Sprouting Instructions:
1. RINSE well until water runs clear.
2. SOAK for 8-12 hours in a bowl, well covered in water (3 x water to sproutable seed mix).
3. Drain, then rinse with fresh water & ½ teaspoon of apple cider/white vinegar or sterilising powder. Apple cider vinegar or sterilising powder in the rinsing water will help to reduce bacteria.
4. Spread sprouts in a colander, bag or dish and place in a dark, well ventilated area.
5. RINSE well several times a day.
6. Sprouts are ready for use when tails first begin to appear (in 3-5 days).
7. Rinse well and allow to dry off before serving.

NOTES
• Luke warm water is best for rinsing to remove by-products generated by sprouting.
• Maximum nutritional goodness is obtained when the sprout first appears.
• Mix with your bird’s favourite food for the first one or two days until they adjust to new type of feed.
• Refrigerate unused sprouts for 1-2 days. Rinse daily until used.
• For extra goodness add some fresh fruit and vegetables to the sprouted seed.
• NEVER feed old or spoiled sprouts. Sprouts should smell sweet and earthy, not sour.
• ‘Soak & Sprout’ is a combination of whole & kibbled grain. Only the whole grain will sprout.  The kibbled grain will become a delicious mash.
